Quran Recitation Session for Visually-Impaired Held in Karbala

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Quran recitation session was held in the holy city of Karbala, Iraq, for the visually-impaired.

It was organized earlier this week by the Quranic institute of the Astan (custodianship) of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine.

A number of blind Qaris from the southern city of Basra recited verses from the Holy Quran in the program.

The Quranic institute of the Astan of Hazrat Abbas (AS) regularly organizes Quranic programs in Karbala and other parts of Iraq with the aim of promoting and enhancing the Quranic culture.

Since the fall of the Ba’athist regime of former dictator Saddam Hussein in 2003, Quranic activities have significantly developed in the Arab country.

The growing trend of Quranic activities has continued despite the chaotic situation in Iraq due to terrorist activities.
