Mauritania Hosting Int’l Conference on Quran’s Role in Muslim Ummah

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Mauritanian capital of Nouakchott is hosting an international conference on how the Quranic teachings help Muslims.

Titled "Acting upon Quran and Its Role in Resolving Muslim Ummah’s Problems”, the conference kicked off on Monday, Dec. 21.


Delegations from Morocco, Tunisia, Senegal, Turkey, Niger, Saudi Arabia and Gambia are present at the gathering.

It has been organized by the Islamic-Cultural Society of Mauritania and Western Africa as part of the "Aid the Holy Prophet (PBUH)” program, which is annually held in the lunar month of Rabi al-Awwal on the occasion of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday.


Addressing the opening ceremony of the conference, Mauritania’s education minister highlighted the status of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and stressed that the love for the Holy Prophet is manifested in acting upon the teachings of the Quran and the Prophet. 


He also lauded the Islamic-cultural society for its efforts to promote the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
