Union of Quranic Societies Launched in Iraq

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A union of Quranic societies has been established in Iraq.
Natiq al-Zarkani, the head of the Quranic Society of Wasit province, has been selected as the provisional president of the union, Qaf news agency reported.

 Union of Quranic Societies Launched in Iraq

It was established in the second meeting of the heads of Quranic societies in the city of Al Diwaniyah.

The meeting was organized with the motto of "Quran, Bastion of Mujahids (those struggling on the Path of God)”.

Heads of Quranic societies from different provinces including Babil, Najaf, Wasit, Dhi Qar, Maysan and Basra were present at the session.

It discussed different issues related to Quranic societies and agreed to a plan to establish a union of Iraqi Quranic societies.

Quranic activities have significantly grown in Iraq since the 2003 overthrow of former dictator Saddam Hussein.
