Palestinian Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs Sheikh Yusuf Adeis made the announcement, adding that registration for the competition has begun and will continue until April 21, news24.com reported.
He said it will be held in the categories of memorization, Tajweed recitation and Quran interpretation.

The Al-Aqsa Quran contest will be organized under the supervision of the Awqaf and Religious Affairs Ministry in different provinces of the country, he added.
Adeis noted that the ten top winners in each category in the final stage will be awarded.
The contest aims to spread the sublime teachings of the Holy Quran in society, the official stated.
He urged Palestinian parents to register their children’s name for the national Quran competition.
Adeis further referred to the ministry’s plans for promotion of Quran memorization in Palestine and said numerous Quran memorization centers have been launched or developed in different parts of Palestine.
