Speaking to IQNA, Abuzar Ebrahimi Torkaman said that during the current Iranian calendar year (ends March 19), ICRO held Quranic weeks and Quranic arts exhibitions in countries like Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Thailand, India and Kuwait.
He said the organization also held Quranic forums and seminars in Armenia, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Senegal, Pakistan and Indonesia.

Organizing Quran teachers training courses in India, Italy, Afghanistan and Pakistan, and sending Quran memorizers and reciters as well as Tawasheeh (religious songs) groups to Germany, Russia, Ireland, Croatia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkey, China, Sri Lanka, Georgia, the Philippines, Malaysia, India, Iraq, Uganda, Tunisia, Tanzania, Ethiopia and Zambia were some of ICRO’s other Quranic activities this year, he stated.
He added that the organization also held Quran competitions at the regional and international levels in several countries and sponsored publication of Quranic books.
Elsewhere, Ebrahimi Torkaman referred to the upcoming congress for honoring women Quran researchers and noted that ICRO has contributed to the congress by, among other things, identifying women Quran researchers in different countries and inviting the, to submit their works to the secretariat of the event.
He went on to say that the congress helps to promote women’s presence in scholarly religious and Quranic fields.
The 14th edition of the congress for honoring women Quran researchers is slated to be held in Tehran on Thursday.
