TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 7th friendship Quran competition between the armies of Iran and Oman concluded here in Tehran on Monday.

The closing ceremony was attended by a number of officials including Iranian Police Chief Brigadier General Hossein Ashtari and Head of the country’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Mohammadi, and Colonel Saleh bin Ahmed bin Suleiman, head of the Omani Quranic delegation attending the contest.

The two –day competition was held in the categories of memorization of the entire Quran and memorization of 20, 10, and 5 Juzes (parts) of the Quran.

Winners of the first to third ranks in different categories of the event were awarded at the ceremony.

The competition is organized either in Iran or in Oman every year to enhance friendship between the armed forces of the two countries and promote Quranic activities in the two countries’ armed forces.
