8 Teams to Compete in 3rd Stage of Group Quran Competition in Karbala
TEHRAN (IQNA) – The third stage of a national Quran competition in the holy city of Karbala will be held with the participation of 8 top Quranic groups from different parts of Iraq.
According to alkafeel.net, the second round of the competition concluded on June 16 at the holy shrine of Hazrat Abbas (AS) in Karbala.
16 teams from different provinces of Iraq competed in the second round and those from Baghdad, Diwaniyah, Wasit, Nineveh, Basra, Babel, Karbala and Al-Hindiya made it to the next round.
The first stage of the competition had been held from June 7 to 12 with the participation of 24 teams from 12 provinces of Iraq.
Each team comprises a Qari, a Quran memorizer and an interpreter of the Quran.
The four-stage national Quranic event has been organized by the Center for Training Quran Reciters and Memorizers affiliated to the Quran Institute of the Astan (custodianship) of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine in Karbala.
