Punjab Quran Studies Institute Established

TEHRAN (IQNA) - The government of Punjab, Pakistan, has set up an Institute of Quran and Seerat Studies to promote Islamic learning, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Tuesday.

He was presiding over the first meeting of the board of directors of the Punjab Institute of Quran and Seerat Studies.

"The Punjab Institute of Quran and Seerat Studies will be a unique institution to promote Islamic teachings. It will become a centre of knowledge,” he said.

He said that the setting up of institute was a milestone in the promotion of Islamic teaching.

"The institute will have international-standard facilities with regard to education and research. Research and publication will be given full attention in the institute. The Punjab Institute of Quran and Seerat Studies will be run using a digital system,” he said.

The chief minister said that a committee, headed by Justice (r) Khalilur Rehman, would be set up for formulating various sub-committees for the Punjab Institute of Quran and Seerat Studies.

Minister for Auqaf Ata Maneka, MPA Begum Nabira Andleeb and Punjab Quran Board chairman Maulana Ghulam Muhammad Sialvi attended the meeting.
