
The final round of the competition was held on Tuesday night, the last night of the holy month of Ramadan, with the participation of five Qaris, according to the TV channel.
The other four finalists were from Germany, Iran, Iraq and Egypt.
Representatives of Germany and Iran came second and third, respectively.
The phone-in Quran competition titled "Inna lil-Muttaqina Mafaza” (Indeed, for the righteous is attainment- Holy Quran, 78:31) had begun on the first night of Ramadan.
A panel of judges comprised on experts in the categories of Lahn, Sowt, Waqf and Ibtida and Tajweed principles evaluated the contestants’ Quranic skills and selected the five finalists and finally the top winners.
