TEHRAN (IQNA) – An advanced Quranic course for Qaris of the Quranic Association of Dhi Qar province in southern Iraq concluded in the holy city of Najaf.

According to the website of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Ali (AS) holy shrine, it was organized by the Astan’s Dar-ol-Quran center.
The course was part of the center’s program to train Quran teachers for Iraqi Quranic institutes.
It concluded with a Quran recitation session at the holy shrine where a number of Qaris from Dhi Qar province recited verses from the Holy Quran.
The participating Qaris received certificates of attendance at the closing ceremony.
There has been a significant rise in Quranic activities and programs in Iraq since the 2003 overthrow of former dictator Saddam Hussein.
