OIC to Hold 4th Int'l Conference on Jerusalem in Azerbaijan
TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People (CEIRPP) will jointly hold the 4th International Conference on the Question of Jerusalem in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku, early next spring 2017.
Permanent Observer of Palestine to the United Nations Riyad Mansour said that the political and cultural conference will coincide with the Palestinian, Arab, Islamic and international efforts to declare 2017 the year to end the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.
He pointed out that
the State of Palestine and the Arab Group have mobilized enough support for the
adoption of such declaration in the next session of the United Nations General
Assembly.
It is noteworthy
that Senegal, Turkey and Indonesia have hosted the previous editions of the
International Conference on the Question of Jerusalem, which discusses the
latest developments in Jerusalem and the Israeli encroachments on the holy city.
