Ramadan Quran Memorization Contest in Egypt

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Al-Azhar Mosque in Egypt has organized a national Quran memorization and Tajweed contest on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

According to Al-Dastoor website, the "Holy Quran, Recitations and the Most Beautiful Voices” Hall of the mosque host the Quranic event, which started on May 31, every day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. local time.

It is sponsored by Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, the Sheikh of Al-Azhar, and supervised by Muhammad Abdul Samad Muhanna, the general supervisor of the mosque.

The contest will continue until the 12th day of the holy month.

Memorization of the entire Quran, and memorization of three quarters, 15 Juzes (parts) and a quarter of the Holy Book are the categories of the competition.

Boys and girls below the age of 23 can participate in the contest.
