TEHRAN (IQNA) – Scholars and luminaries attending the 32nd International Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran underlined the need for drawing up a road map for returning Quds (Jerusalem) to the Muslim Ummah.

Addressing the closing ceremony of the conference on Monday evening, Khalil Hamdan, a member of Lebanon’s Amal movement, deplored some Arab countries for abandoning the issue of Palestine at a time when the Zionist regime keeps massacring Palestinian people.

He said all Muslims should unite and stand up against the Tel Aviv regime.

Hamdan also said Muslims should side with Iran in the face of sanctions against the country.

Another speaker, former Jordanian prime minister Taher al-Masri, warned of the Zionist attempts at Judaization of Quds.

He said the Muslim Ummah needs to commit to a road map for efforts to return Quds to the Muslim world.

Sheikh Zuhair Junaid, a Lebanese political figure, also hoped that with Muslim unity, Quds will soon be liberated.

He also hailed Iran for supporting the Palestinian nation while some Arab countries are colluding with the west against Palestine.

The 32nd Islamic Unity Conference was held in Tehran on November 24-26 with some 350 religious and political luminaries from 100 countries in attendance.

The gathering is held annually on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in an effort to lay the ground for stronger unity and solidarity among Muslims and provide appropriate solutions for their problems.
