Seminar in Qatar Discusses Environment in View of Quran
TEHRAN (IQNA) – A seminar was held in Qatar to discuss the environment in view of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
The Qatari Ministry of Awqaf organized the event at Imam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahab Mosque in the capital Doha on Tuesday, al-Arab Daily reported.
At the seminar, number of Qatari scholars, including Nureddin al-Khademi and Muhammad Rashedi, elaborated on various teachings about the environment in verse 61 of the Quran’s Surah Hud: “It is Allah Who hath produced you from the earth and settled you therein”.
They also expounded on the concept of the environment in the verses of the Quran and the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
The scholars further highlighted the importance Islam attaches to protecting the environment.
It was the sixth such seminar held at the mosque to raise public awareness about religious issues.
