TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Iranian Cultural Center in Ethiopia has published one of Martyr Mortaza Motahhari’s books titled “Man and His Destiny” in the Amharic language.

According to the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, the book critically examines historical doctrines on predestination and free will put forth by various schools of thought in Islam including the Mu'tazali and Ash`ari.

Based on the verses of the Quran and the teachings of the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS), Martyr Mutahhari in this book determines the true and correct position of human free will and predestination from the Islamic point of view.

Freedom and Liberty, Human Distinction, A Glance at the Early Period of Islam, Effect of Spiritual Factors, Divine Destiny and Material Compulsion, and Special Logic of the Holy Quran are some of the chapters of the book.

Islam was in 2007 the second largest religion in Ethiopia with over 33.9% of the population being Muslim. The faith arrived in Ethiopia at an early date, shortly before the Hijra.

Amharic is one of the Ethiopian Semitic languages, which are a subgrouping within the Semitic branch of the Afroasiatic languages. It is spoken as a first language by the Amharas and as a lingua franca by other populations residing in major cities and towns of Ethiopia.
