TEHRAN (IQNA) – The number of Quran memorization centers launched by Iran’s Army has been growing over the past years, an official said.

Speaking to IQNA on the occasion of the Army Day, Head of the Army’s Quran, Etrt and Prayers Colonel Mehdi Meydani said that the number of the memorization centers across the country has reached 151.

They promote Quran memorization among the personnel and their family members, he noted.

The Army’s memorizers of the Quran are now more than 12,000, Colonel Meydani added.

Referring to other Quranic activities of the Army, he said they include organizing Quran competitions, holding educational courses, and holding Quran reading programs.

Friday marked the national Army Day in Iran and unlike previous years, Instead of holding military parades to celebrate occasion, military units held health service parades across the country to express readiness to assist the medical society in the battle with the novel coronavirus.
