Turkey to Hold Islamic Economics Int’l Conference

TEHRAN (IQNA) –  The 12th International Conference on Islamic Economics and Finance will start in Istanbul, Turkey on Sunday.

 

The conference will be organized online by Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University (IZU) in coordination with the Islamic Development Bank’s Islamic Research and Education Institute (IRTI).

It aims, according to the organizers, to contribute to a better understanding and interpretation of Islamic economics and finance.

More than 100 academic figures and experts from different countries will take part in the conference, which will open with a speech by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and will run until June 20.

At the conference, topics, including the Islamic money and capital markets in Turkey, entrepreneurship, global financial architecture, digital economy, the Fourth Industrial Revolution and good governance and sustainable development will be discussed.

The rector of IZU, professor Mehmet Bulut, said the conference will be carried out online for the first time in its history because of the coronavirus outbreak.
