The family of the late Egyptian Quran master gifted a series of his recitations to the Quran Radio in November.
Tariq Abdul Basit said the move was made in accordance with his father’s wish, Al-Quds Al-Arabi website reported.
The series was presented to the Quran Radio officials in a ceremony in Cairo.
It was recorded in 1986 in Morocco, two years before the prominent Qari’s death, at the request of the then Moroccan king, Hassan II.
It includes Abdul Basit’s recitations of the Quran in Warsh an Nafi narration.
