Quranic Session Held for Visually-Impaired in Iraq’s Kadhemayn

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Quran recitation session was held for Iraqi visually-impaired Qaris at the holy shrine of Imam Kadhem (AS) in Kadhemayn, north of Baghdad.

 

The Astan (custodianship) of the holy shrines of Imam Kadhem (AS) and Imam Javad (AS) organized the weekly Quranic program.

It is held every Saturday after the evening prayers with the participation of a number of members of the Astan, Quran teachers and experts as well as pilgrims of the holy shrines.

A group of top Qaris from Al-Kafeef Quranic-Cultural Institute, including Muhammad Abdul Shaheed from Diwaniyah and Qasem Sabah Al-Halfi from Basra, recited verses from the Holy Quran in this week’s program.

The program also included a competition on Quranic concepts for the pilgrims as well as Tawasheeh performances.

Sheikh Imaad Al-Kadhemi, director of AL-Kadhemiya Center for Heritage Revival delivered a speech at the program elaborating on Quranic Maqamat and Naqamat (melodic modes).

Wasam Al-Khaz’ali, director of Al-Kafeef Institute, and the particpating visually-impaired Qaris were also honored in the program.
