TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Hikmat International Institute is a bridge between seminary and university scholars of Iran and the world, the institute’s president said.

Speaking to IQNA, Hojat-ol-Islam Morteza Rezazdeh said the institute was established in 2018 with the aim of elevating scholarly and cultural services in the field of religion studies and Islamic and Shia culture with an international quality.

He said the Hikmat International Institute is a non-governmental institute founded by a number of seminary and university figures to promote culture, knowledge and spirituality and offer scholarly and cultural services at the national and international levels.

It also aims to present an accurate picture of the religion based on morality, spirituality and rationality and introduce the beautiful picture of Iran’s rich civilization and culture to domestic and foreign audiences, he stated.

Referring to the academic activities of the center, Hojat-ol-Islam Rezazadeh said it seriously pursues scholarly and academic programs, including organization of short-term and long-term academic courses.

There have also been contacts with various universities in Iran and around the world and some of the institute’s members have been sent to universities in European and American countries for teaching, he noted.

As for the academic courses held by the institute, he said themes related to the field of religion, including Islamic culture and sciences, interfaith issues, spirituality, ethics, arts and literature are given the main attention in the programs.

Asked about an “International Intensive Academic Course on Shia Studies” that the institute plans to hold, starting from Monday, July 12, Hojat-ol-Islam Rezazadeh noted that development of Shia studies abroad is among the institute’s objectives.

To this end, the institute has organized various educational programs either independently or in cooperation with other academic centers, such as the University of Religions and Denominations, he said.
