TEHRAN (IQNA) – The first group of contenders in the 28th edition of Egypt’s international Quran competition arrived in Cairo on Wednesday evening.

The Quran activists who are from different Arab and Muslim countries were accommodated in a hotel in the metropolis, El-Balad News reported.

They include Mohamed Tariq al-Ansari and Minhaj Ahmad from India and Nazar Sultan Bay from Kazakhstan.

Egypt’s 28th international Quran competition will be held in Cairo from December 11 to 15.

It has four categories, namely memorization of entire Quran for speakers of Arabic (maximum age: 35), memorization of entire Quran for non-Arabic speakers (maximum age: 30), memorization of entire Quran for people with special needs (maximum age: 30), and memorization of entire Quran for children (maximum age: 12).

The two last categories are only for Egyptian nationals.
