Resistance Only Way for Deterrence against Enemy: Palestinian Islamic Jihad
In a statement released on Friday on the occasion of the Palestinian Martyrs’ Day, the Islamic Jihad highlighted the high status of martyrs and the sanctity of what they defended and were martyred for.
It said the blood of martyrs must be a motivation for continuing their path and carrying their weapons until the occupiers are forced out of the Palestinian land and the entire Palestine returns to its rightful owners.
The movement added that the national martyrs’ day should be an occasion for strengthening national unity and taking a united stance in protection of the martyrs’ legacy and the path for which they sacrificed their lives.
It also called for a unanimous stance among all Palestinians in support of resistance, which is the only path to creation of deterrence against the enemy.
Hamas also released a statement on the occasion, saying the Palestinian people, at home and in diaspora, commemorate the Palestinian Martyrs’ Day to reflect the value of martyrdom for the sake of liberation from the occupation and spare no effort to restore the Palestinian legitimate rights and defend national constants and holy sites, especially Jerusalem al-Quds and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
This year’s anniversary comes as Palestinian martyrs continue to fall every day in the quest for liberation and return; their blood will remain the fuel of the Palestinian struggle by fighting the Israeli occupation, repulsing its aggression, and winning every battle – last but not least is the “Sword of Al-Quds” battle, Hams said.
“As we, in Hamas, salute all Palestinian, Arab, and Muslim martyrs at home and abroad who have fallen while defending Palestine and its constants and holy sites since the beginning of the Israeli occupation, we affirm that we will remain committed to the resistance approach,” it went on to say.
