Scholar Urges Avoiding Sectarianism, Religious Biases

TEHRAN (IQNA) – An Al-Mustafa International University professor underlined the need for Muslims to eschew sectarianism and religious bigotry and try to find solutions to major issues in the Islamic world and international issues.

Addressing an international conference organized by Government College University in Pakistan’s Hyderabad, Hojat-ol-Islam Yaqub Bashwi said in order to save humanity, sectarianism and religious biases should be abandoned.

The conference, which he addressed via video links, was attended by scholars from 18 countries, including Pakistan, Iran, Malaysia, Britain, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Uganda, Jordan, Brunei, Bangladesh, and Canada.  

It discussed medical laws in view of the Seerah of the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH).

In his speech, Hojat-ol-Islam Bashwi highlighted the need for acquaint people with the beauties of the Quran and the Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in terms of their teachings about the environment.

He said Muslims should take the initiative in the cultural fields and play a role not just in Islamic countries but also in different areas of global management.

He also proposed the establishment of a tree planting university.

Planting trees is a sacred act, he said, adding that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) planted trees and encouraged his companions and the Islamic Ummah to do the same.

The cleric added that planting trees helps to eradicate hunger and poverty in the society and has many other advantages.

By establishing a tree-planting university and writing theses and dissertations on the subject, effective steps can be taken to promoting religious teachings and the Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), he went on to say.
