Esmaeili made the remark at the closing ceremony of the festival’s sixth edition, which was held here in the Iranian capital on Friday.
He commended the organizers of the Quranic event and said the Culture Ministry considers it a duty to support such activities.
He added that promoting the Quranic culture is among the priorities in all departments of the ministry.
The top qaris, Quran memorizers and Tarteel reciters taking part in the national festival were awarded at the closing ceremony, held at Vahdat Hall in Tehran.
A number of Quranic, religious and cultural officials and veteran Quran activists attended the event.
The top winners were selected via popular vote, with Seyed Mohammad Tahaei from the northern province of Mazandaran being selected as the best qari with more than 2 million votes.
