The mosque on George’s Road will host the open day on May 26, inviting members of the community to see first-hand how the mosque operates during prayer times and to answer any budding questions.

Anyone is welcome to attend the open day, including children and people of faith or no faith.

A spokesman for the mosque said: “We are hosting an open community event for all members of the community to come and experience the mosque.

“There will be a mosque tour, Q&A session, some food, you can observe Muslims praying the evening prayer.

These events are great for building bridges within communities, and it would be lovely to see anyone, and everyone attend.

“You can book to attend on a link, or you can contact the number on the poster.”

Doors will open at 6.30pm as the mosque look forward to working with the wider public in creating cohesion and allowing people to see how prayers are held as well as a glimpse into the teachings of Islam at a mosque.

Food will be served during the time and light refreshments.
