It was organized on the demise anniversary of the Islamic Republic’s founder with the participation of scholars and thinkers from Iran and a number of other countries.

In his address to the conference, Ayatollah Ramezani Gilani, secretary general of the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) World Assembly, described the character of Imam Khomeini as comprehensive and said his character can be discussed as a Faqih, a scholar, a Hakim, a philosopher and a religious politician, among others.

“Today I want to discuss the school of Imam Khomeini from a moral point of view,” he stated.

He referred to the Hadith from the Holy Prophet (PBUH) “I was only sent to perfect moral character”, and said it underlines the importance of morality.

Ayatollah Ramezani Gilani said when morality is manifested in people’s conduct, it will certainly affect the society.

He added that when a leader is Hakim, it is certainly manifested in the conduct, and that is why Imam Khomeini helped the society on the path of Tarbiya (self-improvement).

The cleric referred to different kinds of morality and said the one that was the basis of Imam Khomeini’s life was rooted in Fitrat (nature) and man’s desire for virtue, truthfulness, and serving people.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Ramezani said Imam Khomeini’s teachings are not just for the Iranian society but for all humanity.

If the human society pays attention to Imam Khomeini’s call, it will reach moral and human growth, he added.

The human society should also pay attention to the recommendations of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei in the Statement on the Second Phase of the Revolution, he stated.

Spread of morality, seeking justice, fighting corruption and advancement of science are among those recommendations, he went on to say.
