Quranic Circle Held in Qom on Eve of Imam Reza (AS) Birth Anniversary
The Quranic department of the Astan (custodianship) of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA) the holy shrine organized the Quranic event at Al-Mahdi Mosque on Friday evening.
It included Quran recitation, eulogy recitation and poetry reading, among other programs.
The Karamat celebrations mark the ten days between the birth anniversaries of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA) and Imam Reza (AS), the daughter and son of the 7th Shia Imam.
Today, June 11, is the 11th day of the lunar Hijri month of Dhul Qa’ada, which marks the birthday of the eights Shia Imam (AS).
Muslims, especially Shias, in Iran and elsewhere in the world celebrate the auspicious occasion by holding various programs.
Millions of devotees of Imam Reza (AS) have also traveled to the holy city of Mashhad, where the mausoleum of Imam Reza (AS) is located, to pay tribute to the eighth Imam (AS).
