TEHRAN (IQNA) – An Iraqi Sunni cleric says the Zionist regime is sowing the seed of discord among Muslim nations to achieve its aims.

Speaking to IQNA, Sheikh Abdul-Amir al-Kilani, Imam of Baghdad's al-Aboud Mosque, shared his thoughts about the Israeli regime as well as unity among Muslims.

The regime in Tel Aviv uses the United States to pressure other nations into normalization as some reactionary regimes in the region have already jumped on the normalization wagon, he added.

Back in 2020, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain signed United States-brokered agreements with Israel to normalize their ties with the regime. Some other regional states, namely Sudan and Morocco, followed suit soon afterward.

The so-called Abraham accords have sparked widespread condemnations from the Palestinians as well as nations and human rights advocates across the globe, especially within the Muslim world.

Zionists are pursuing their dream of Nile to Euphrates as the regime tries to expand its influence in economic, political, and military fields, noted the Sunni scholar.

The only path to liberating Palestine is through resistance, he said, adding that all those who can take arms should do so.

Elsewhere, he pointed to the necessity of Muslims’ unity in the face of the common Zionist enemy.

Al-Kilani said unity is accessible if Muslims pay more attention to the meanings and concepts of divine teachings and distance from minor differences.
