500 Memorizers Recite Entire Quran at Program in Gaza
Known as “Elite Memorizers”, the program was organized by the Gaza Dar-ol-Quran and Sunnah Center, according to Safa.ps website.
More than 500 men and women who have memorized the Quran took part in the event in Gaza on Tuesday.
The Taqawi Mosque in Sheikh Ridhwan Neighborhood of the city hosted the program for men while the program for women was held at the Shafei Mosque in Zaytoon Neighborhood.
The recitation of the Quran from the beginning to the end started after Fajr prayer and concluded after Asr (evening) prayer.
Bilal Imad, head of the center, said this day has been designated to be a day to recite the entire book from morning until evening every year.
He hoped that there will be a greater number of people taking part in the program next year.
Imad added that the center has received letters of thanks and gratitude from different countries for holding the Quranic program.
Quranic activities are very common in the Gaza Strip and Quran recitation and memorization programs are held in the coastal enclave all over the year.
