TEHRAN (IQNA) – People judge each other in different situations often without understanding the circumstances of the other party or having detailed information about the subject.

Judgments are usually made based on the apparent aspects of an issue while may be some hidden aspects also at play.

Humans draw influence from others and hence are changeable. That is why sometimes they reach a peak and sometimes are at their lowest level. Therefore, man is constantly changing and this change can have a positive or negative direction.

Accordingly, judging others may increase our mistakes with regard to others. Some psychologists say that people cannot be measured because they change. The principle of man’s being in constant change shows that judgment is wrong at any time, both when people are in the direction of positive or negative change.

Judgments are usually made based on information that we already have. So when we judge others for their good deeds, we do not know if they have not changed since then; this is also the case when we judge others for their bad deeds. Furthermore, we often make judgments based on the aspects that we can see while they may be other factors that we cannot witness.

God says He is open to accepting the repentance of individuals; this means that we can get up and start again after every failure. By judging others, we sow the seeds of despair and may refrain them from the opportunity to learn from mistakes. Sometimes judgments are based on what happened in the past, while people's lives and circumstances are changeable.

“Believers, do not let people mock other people who may be better than themselves. Do not let women mock women, who may be better than themselves. Do not find fault with one another, nor abuse one another with nicknames. An evil name is disobedience after belief. Those who do not repent are the harmdoers.” (Surah Al-Hujurat, verse 11)
