TEHRAN (IQNA) – Some humans receive God’s Salawat (blessings and peace). Quran interpreters say that God’s Salawat is not just words but is the blessing, light and peace that one feels from within.

Salam mans peace

Verse 157 of Surah Al-Baqarah talks about a beautiful truth about the life of patient people who are granted the Salawat of God: “It is they who will receive blessings and mercy from God and who follow the right guidance.”

What does Salawat mean exactly? The word Salat in Arabic means attention and resilience. According to Al-Mizan Exegesis of the Quan, Salawat means mercy when it is attributed to God, repentance when it is attributed to angels, and prayer when it is attributed to people.

Ayatollah Abdullah Javadi Amoli (born 1933), divine Salawat is not in words but is in the form of God’s action. It brings light, brightness and purity to one’s heart. Based on that, he gets keen to obey God, hates sin, fears hell, is eager to reach paradise, and is devoted to those who love God.

Divine Salawat also reveals God’s attribute of Hannan, which means compassionate and kind. There is kindness and compassion in the meaning of Salawat. So Salawat means God granting blessings and light to those who are patient.

Quran interpreters says Salawat can be at different levels. Ayatollah Javadi Amoli says that due to divine Salawat, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) reached a status that he himself became a source of Salawat for others.

God says in Verse 43 of Surah Al-Ahzab: “He it is Who sends His blessings on you, and (so do) His angels, that He may bring you forth out of utter darkness into the light; and He is Merciful to the believers.”  This Salawat for some is to prevent attacks by darknesses and for some is to remove internal darknesses.
