TEHRAN (IQNA) – A competition on the concepts of Surah Al-Ankabut of the Holy Quran was held in Nigeria.

It was the first in a series of contests featuring Surahs of the Holy Book that the Iranian Culture Center in the African country organizes.

Introducing and promoting the teachings of the Holy Quran and their use in personal and social dimensions of life are among the objectives of the series.

In the first part, English translations of Surah Al-Ankabut and its teachings were distributed among those taking part in the competition during the holy month of Ramadan.

The participants from were mostly teenagers and youths from different provinces of Nigeria.

Winners were announced and awarded after the end of the Holy month.

 Nigeria is a country in West Africa with a population of over 210 million. Nearly 55 percent of the country's population is Muslim.
