IQNA – Jesus (AS) is among Ulul'azm Anbiya (arch-prophets) and his book is the Bible.

Jesus in Quran

He was the penultimate prophet of God before Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

A study of the verses of the Quran about Jesus (AS) shows that the divine verses talk about the story of miraculous birth of Jesus (AS), holiness of his mother Mary (SA), and his speaking in the cradle, among others.

Some verses point to his 12 disciples and Verse 55 of Surah Al Imran rejects the idea of his crucifixion: “Allah said: ‘(Prophet) Jesus, I will take you to Me and will raise you to Me, and I will purify you from those who disbelieve. I will make your followers (who died before Prophet Muhammad) above those who disbelieve till the Day of Resurrection. Then, to Me you shall all return, and I shall judge between you as to that you were at variance.”

Overall, the name Jesus is mentioned in the Quran 25 times, Messiah 11 times, and ‘Son of Mary’ 23 times.

Despite what the distorted Bible says, Jesus does not consider himself the son of God but a servant of God:

“(Jesus said): I spoke to them of nothing except that which You ordered me, that you worship God, my Lord and our Lord. I witnessed them whilst living in their midst and ever since You took me to You, You have been the Watcher over them. You are the Witness of everything.” (Verse 117 of Surah Al-Ma’idah)
