IQNA – The General Presidency of Haramain (the two holy mosques in Mecca and Medina) has launched a distance Quran learning program.

Named Haramain, the initiative aims to develop the teaching of the Quran on a global scale.

The presidency said the program uses the latest technologies for teaching the Holy Book, Al-Akhbar daily reported.

It added that those taking the courses will be able to correct their recitation, achieve mastery in Tajweed, and memorize the Quran.

The courses are offered in six languages, namely Arabic, English, Urdu, Indonesian, Malay and Hausa, via the Miqrat al-Haramain app.

Those finishing the courses successfully will be awarded certificates as well as memorization and recitation permissions from experts in the field of ten styles of Quran recitation.

The presidency also offers different services to pilgrims and worshippers vising the Grand Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina.

It also runs tours of the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran.
