Quran Memorization Contest Wraps Up in Malaysia

IQNA – An annual Quran memorization competition concluded in Malaysia’s capital of Kuala Lumpur on Sunday, with a ceremony where the winners were awarded.

The Religious Attaché at the Saudi embassy in Malaysia held the closing ceremony of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance-organized 16th annual Itqan-National Quranic Memorization Competition, honoring winners at the International Islamic University Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur.

The competition was organized in collaboration with the Itqan Education Foundation in Malaysia.

Out of the 1,200 participants from various Malaysian states, 173 contestants made it to the final round, from among whom 54 were winners of the four categories of the competition: memorization of the entire Quran, memorization of 20 parts of the holy book, memorization of 10 parts, and memorization of five parts.

 Gifts, commemorative shields, and other awards were presented to the winners.
