IQNA – The fourth shipment of medicines and medical supplies sent by the Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRSC) to Lebanon has arrived in the Arab country.

Medicines and medical supplies sent by the Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRSC) to Lebanon amid the Israeli aggression on the Arab country.

Babak Mahmoudi, who heads the IRCS’s Aid and Relief Organization, said the shipment weighs 3 tons.

He said it includes emergency medicines and drugs for infants and children.

He referred to the recent attack by the Israeli regime targeting a make-shift IRCS hospital on the border between Syria and Lebanon and said the IRCS is building another hospital to provide humanitarian services to the people of Lebanon.

The new hospital, located 40 kilometers away from the old one, is being equipped, he said, adding that more equipment and medical staff will be sent to the area to make the hospital ready.

Earlier, IRCS chief Pir Hossein Koulivand said that more than 7,000 medics and experts in different medical fields have volunteered to be sent to Lebanon.

They are ready to go to the Arab country and join the efforts to help the war-stricken people there, he stated.

Koulivand also noted that during a ten-day period, the Iranian people raised 40 billion rials for the Iranian Red Crescent Society to help the people of the Gaza Strip, Yemen and Lebanon.
