ICRO Chief Offers Condolences to Pope

IQNA – The head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) expressed his condolences to the leader of the Catholic Church on the death of the head of the Vatican’s Interfaith Dialogue Center.

Cardinal Miguel Ángel Ayuso Guixot died on November 25, at the age of 72.

 

In his message to Pope Francis, Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Mehdi Imanipour said he was saddened to hear of the death of Cardinal Miguel Ángel Ayuso Guixot who spent his life to promote dialogue with followers of other faiths.

He said that in his capacity as the secretary and then head of the Vatican’s Interfaith Dialogue Center, the cardinal took effective steps for promoting human dignity.

Hojat-ol-Islam Imanipour noted that the Vatican cleric’s efforts to boost dialogue with ICRO’s Center for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue will always be remembered.

He expressed condolences to the Pope, the Vatican officials and members of the center over the death of the cardinal.
