The roads leading to the holy shrines of Imam Hussein (AS) and Hazrat Abbas (AS), as well as the old entrances to the city of Karbala, were filled with pilgrims from Iraq and other countries, who came to pay their respects.

Servants of the holy shrines also participated in the mourning ceremonies. The event began in the courtyard of the Abbasi shrine, where the servants walked the distance between the two shrines with sorrow and chanting elegies, before arriving at the shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) to continue their mourning.

The holy shrines provided security, health services, food, drinking water, and other necessities to meet the needs of the pilgrims.
