IQNA – An Algerian illumination artist said Iran is the foremost authority on Islamic arts, adding that in Algeria, many Iranian art books are used for teaching and practicing decorative arts.

Algerian illumination artist Amal Dhayfallah speaking to IQNA at the 32nd Tehran International Holy Quran Exhibition.

Amal Dhayfallah made the remark in an interview with IQNA at the 32nd Tehran International Holy Quran Exhibition.

These arts have spread from Iran to other Islamic countries, she said. “Islamic arts are highly advanced in Iran, and in Algeria, we use many Iranian art books for teaching and practicing decorative arts.”

In Algeria, there is a particular emphasis on Islamic arts, especially Quranic arts, including the calligraphy of the Quran, the decoration and gilding of manuscripts, as well as the binding of the Quran, she stated, adding, “Thankfully, Algeria has made significant efforts in this area.”

Speaking about her artistic activities, she said, “I am an architect and a specialist in ancient artifacts and Islamic arts, particularly Islamic decorations. I have participated in numerous international exhibitions, including those in Jordan, Iraq, Dubai, Sharjah, Morocco, Turkey, and Algeria.

“I have many artistic works related to the Holy Quran, including the gilding of several Algerian manuscripts. I have also had the honor of writing the Quran at some of the world’s largest exhibitions, including in Algeria.”

Asked about the Quran expo, she said, “Thank God, the exhibition is very beautiful and full of life, attracting many visitors. We are also very pleased to participate in this exhibition.”

As for the exhibition’s slogan, namely “Quran; The Path of Life”, she said this slogan is very beautiful as, in fact, the Quran is the essence of life itself. “Anyone who abandons the Quran and the Book of God will never have a dignified life, because the Quran is the source of our existence.”
