Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mousa Soltani, the mosque’s prayer leader, said Itikaf during the blessed month of Ramadan, especially in its last ten days, is based on the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

“This year marks the tenth year that we are holding the special Itikaf of Ramadan, based on this same Sunnah. The purpose of this event is to promote and develop religious culture and to solidify beliefs, particularly among the general public, including teenagers and young adults.”

This year’s Itikaf is held for men aged 18 and older on the 25th, 26th and 27th of Ramadan (March 26-28), he noted.

The cleric said the invited scholars will deliver speeches on ideological, social, and political issues needed by the society.

There will also be a Quran recitation session with the participation of renowned qaris, he went on to say.
