Tatarstan to Organize Adhan Competition
The Islamic Administration of Tatarstan announced that the Ulyanovsk region of the republic is preparing to host the Adhan contest in June.
It will be held with the support of the Ulyanovsk Regional Administration and a number of other institutions.
It is a competition for Muslim students and children aged five to 14 years.
It is aimed at improving the performance of Adhan recitation in Tatarstan mosques, supporting beautiful voices and talents, and reviving and spreading the Adhan culture among Muslims.
The competition will take place in two stages, will the first stage scheduled to be held online from June 2 to 8 via the Telegram platform.
A committee consisting of religious figures and experts will evaluate the performance of the participants to select the best applicants in the online preliminary phase.
The judging committee of the competition pays attention to the contestants’ correct pronunciation of the Arabic language and the long breath, as well as their observance of the rules of tone when reciting.
The Adhan should be resonant and pleasant to listen to. The competition also encourages children who do not know how to recite the Adhan to participate and be taught how to do it.

The organizing committee will hold the finals in the Ulyanovsk region on June 22. The organizers have prepared a comprehensive program, which includes a gathering of muezzins from different regions of Russia, a round table about the features of Tatar Adhan recitation, and a special Adhan guide.
At the end of the competition, the organizing committee will give the winner of the main section an Umrah pilgrimage trip, and the winners of the younger age group will receive cash and valuable prizes. Each participant will also receive a certificate and a gift.
