Conduct Guidelines Outlined for Visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has released a set of behavioral guidelines for those visiting the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, aiming to protect the sacred atmosphere of one of Islam’s most revered locations.

Published as part of an awareness campaign, the recommendations encourage visitors to maintain a demeanor that reflects the mosque’s religious significance.

The ministry underscored the need for visitors to enter the mosque with their right foot and recite a traditional Islamic invocation, following the example set by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Once inside, the guidance calls for restrained speech, respectful conduct, and avoidance of any disruptive behavior that could affect the devotion of others.

In accordance with Islamic tradition, visitors are also asked to offer greetings of peace to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his companions when passing by the sacred chamber.

Upon departure, the ministry recommends exiting with the left foot while reciting a specific farewell supplication.

These practices, it explained, are rooted in prophetic tradition and are intended to help create a calm and respectful environment for worshippers.
