The protestors took off from the East End Boat Launch and headed towards Fort Gorges.
They are the first local sea parade to draw attention to an international humanitarian flotilla movement.
Organizers say they are making a statement against the genocidal war in the Gaza Strip.
“It may not have been immediately obvious to everybody that what was happening in Palestine was wrong. It's wrong on a moral level, it's wrong on a political level. It's also wrong on the level that, we can't bomb our way to peace. We can't always proceed with violence,” Erin Kiley of the Maine Coalition for Palestine said.
