IQNA – The top participants in three specialized Quranic recitation courses organized by the Dar-ol-Quran Center of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Ali (AS) holy shrine were honored at a ceremony.

According to the website of the Astan, the Quran Education Unit of the center held the graduation ceremony for the participants in the three specialized Quran courses, including the basic Maqamat of recitation in the Egyptian method, the professional course of principles of recitation, and the ‘Barir bin Khudair’ recitation rules course.

Alaa Mohsin, head of the center said in an address to the ceremony that 35 Quran students graduated after completing an academic path that lasted several months.

Some of these courses lasted more than 2 months while the professional course on the principles of recitation exceeded two full years of education and training, he noted.

In these courses, the main Maqamat of recitation in the Egyptian method, the structural rules of recitation, and the rules of recitation at the introductory level were taught with the aim of training reciters who are proficient in the correct use of voice and tone and have a complete understanding of the rules of Tajweed, he stated.

Also speaking was Haider Al-Miyali, one of the supervisors of these Quranic courses, also said this program was implemented in line with the comprehensive plan to train reciters for the different stages of recitation, which starts from the introductory stage of rules, then reaches the main Maqamat of recitation, the relationship between Maqamat and their types, and finally, the professional courses of Waqf, Ibtida, and visualization of verses.

He added that the graduates will have the opportunity to participate in the teacher preparation course, which is one of the rarest Quranic courses in Iraq, will be dedicated to comprehensive training in voice, tone, positions, and visualization of verses.

The Quran students who graduated from the Quranic courses expressed their satisfaction with the honor and emphasized that participating in these courses was an experience to strengthen their Quranic skills and opened new horizons for them to specialize in Quranic sciences.
