The Qatar Charity (QC) inaugurated the ‘Amina Centre for Quran Memorization’. This is the tenth center QC has built in 2025 in the country, with the support of generous donors.
The center consists of three classrooms, in addition to a fully equipped administrative office. The building has been equipped with all essential facilities required to operate Quran memorization sessions, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment for both male and female students.
QC says it is committed to teaching the Holy Quran as part of its development projects in the fields of education and culture. This includes building, equipping, and operating centers for teaching and memorizing the Holy Quran. QC also focuses on this aspect through its ‘Furqan’ project, implemented by its ‘Rofaqa’ initiative in several countries. This initiative targets orphans sponsored by the ‘Rofaqa’ program, particularly in non-Arabic speaking countries. The project focuses on teaching them the Arabic language and improving their skills to better understand the Quran, learn the correct way to read and memorize it, and instill and reinforce Islamic values.
The inauguration of the center, a significant addition to Quranic education in Somalia, took place during an official ceremony attended by local officials, representatives from the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, school leadership, scholars, parents and students.
In her speech at the ceremony, Saadia Ibrahim Abdi, spokesperson for the Al-Bashair Centre for Quran Memorization, expressed her deep gratitude to the generous Qatari benefactor who funded the center’s construction with their donation.
She also commended QC’s efforts in transforming this project into a distinguished reality that serves the community.
