IQNA – The Vice Chancellor of Egypt’s Al-Azhar University emphasized that the Holy Quran attaches great importance to the issue of elevating humans and that this issue is a fundamental axis in the system of divine guidance.

Vice Chancellor of Egypt’s Al-Azhar University Mahmoud Sadiq

Mahmoud Sadiq, in his speech at the Fifth International Scientific Conference of the Islamic Dawah Faculty in Cairo, entitled: “Islamic Dawah and Human Elevation in a Changing World,” described elevating human beings as the essence of divine messages and a fundamental axis in the Quran.

Sadiq emphasized that from the perspective of the Holy Quran, mankind has a divine responsibility to build on earth. He explained that reflecting on the verses of the Holy Quran clearly shows that human development and elevation is not a marginal issue, but rather the essence of divine messages.

He noted that with each passing day, man is getting closer to the Hereafter, which requires constant spiritual vigilance and moral awareness, especially in a world characterized by rapid change and intense interaction of different ideas and cultures.

He added that moral values are the fundamental pillars that give life real meaning. Without them, life becomes merely a physical movement devoid of spirit and purpose. He noted that Muslim scholars throughout history have been at the forefront of those who recognized this truth and worked to guide people towards authentic Islamic values, combining knowledge with spiritual refinement and understanding with the moral and spiritual development of humanity.

He stated that the high pace of modern life and the intertwined intellectual and cultural flows that the world is witnessing necessitate a new commitment and a dual role for scientific and religious institutions.

He also emphasized that protecting individuals intellectually and psychologically has become a great responsibility and requires coordinated and integrated efforts of scholars, thinkers, and educational and media institutions.

It is worth noting that the Fifth International Scientific Conference of the Islamic Dawah Faculty in Cairo, which began on Wednesday is a continuation of a series of scientific conferences that the university holds annually.
