Russia’s Dagestan Debuts Muslim-Friendly Travel Itinerary
The Dagestan Republic is set to launch a new halal-friendly tourist route aimed at Muslim travelers, as the country expands its tourism appeal to visitors from Central Asia and the Middle East.
The new route, titled “Salam, Dagestan!”, was developed according to halal tourism standards.
The first tour is scheduled for June and will host 25 tour operators from countries across Central Asia and the Middle East. Participants will spend a week exploring the coast of the Caspian Sea and the mountainous regions of Dagestan.
Travelers will stay in high-quality hotels and travel across the republic in premium comfort minibuses.
The program includes visits to some of Dagestan’s most famous attractions, including the Sulak Canyon, the Khunzakh Waterfalls and UNESCO-listed historical sites in Derbent.

The route has been fully adapted to meet the needs of Muslim tourists, with all restaurants serving exclusively halal food.
Around 95 percent of Dagestan’s population practices Islam and the republic is home to more than 1,500 mosques, making it easy for visitors to observe daily prayers during their trip.
