The mourning rituals were organized at the Manassas Mosque in Virginia, on the western outskirts of Washington, DC, on Sunday evening, with the participation of Muslims from different countries.
The ceremony took place in a spiritual atmosphere full of sorrow and faith; an atmosphere in which the deep connection of those present with religious concepts, the teachings of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) and the culture of Ashura was clearly visible.
Abolfazl Mehrabadi, head of the Iranian Interests Protection Office in Washington, was also present at the ceremony.
It began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and the playing of parts of the speeches of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, speeches that emphasized the concept of leadership on the front line, standing on the path of truth and the true meaning of resistance.
In his speech at the ceremony, Hojjat-ol-Islam Seyed Suleiman, a Shia cleric from Pakistan and a religious leader in America, emphasized the position of people who walk on the path of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) by referring to the concept of resistance and martyrdom.
