He argued that the ceremony "completely annihilated" Western propaganda that had portrayed Iran's leadership and the martyred Leader in particular, as lacking public backing.
"The world saw with its own eyes that no political leader has enjoyed this level of support from his own people," Barrett said.
According to the American analyst, the scale of the funeral left many Western observers struggling to reconcile the images with long-standing narratives about Iran.
Barrett also contrasted the event with U.S. President Donald Trump's declining approval ratings, claiming that the unprecedented turnout created "cognitive dissonance" among Western audiences who had been exposed to years of anti-Iran narratives.
He further described the funeral as an inspiring display of what he called a principled and spiritual resistance to aggression and imperialism.
