Israeli Regime Biggest Threat to Regional Stability, Security: Iranian Spokesman

IQNA – The spokesman for Iran’s Foreign Ministry said the countries in the region have come to the conclusion more than ever before that the greatest threat to the stability, security and cooperation of the region and even the entire international community is Zionist ambitions.

Spokesman for Iran’s Foreign Ministry Esmaeil Baghaei

Esmaeil Baghaei made the remarks in his weekly press conference in Tehran on Monday.

In response to a question about the trilateral security agreement between Pakistan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia and the different assessments of this agreement, he said the Foreign Ministry’s view on this issue is a sign of a change in the perception of the countries in the region.

“In light of the developments of the last two or three years, the countries in the region have realized that security is not a commodity that can be purchased from security brokers. The policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been cooperation between the countries in the region to ensure security, without the presence and interference of actors outside the region.”

Baghaei added, “After October 7 (2023), the beginning of the Zionist regime’s colonial plan in occupied Palestine and Gaza, as well as the occupation regime’s attacks on Lebanon and other countries in the region, the countries in the region have come to the conclusion more than ever before that the greatest threat to the stability, security and cooperation of the countries in the region and even the entire international community is Zionist ambitions.”

He emphasized that now, it can no longer be said that Zionist plans are limited.

“The illusory plan of ‘Greater Israel’ officially threatens the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of a significant number of countries in the region, including Syria, and threats have also been made against many countries in the region.”

He said all of this shows that the countries of the region, in addition to considering America part of the problem, have also correctly understood the realities of the region.

He said correctly identifying the enemy can help ensure security, prevent instability, and confront the abuses of the enemy and its allies in the region.

He also highlighted regional developments, and stated, “We expect the countries of the region to refrain from making their lands available for the aggressive actions of the Zionist regime and the United States.”
